So much fun splattering the wedding cake with icing "mud"

One more "for the road".

Double Birthday Cakes

This order was for 2 sisters with a shared birthday party, but each birthday girl needed her own cake and had great ideas for the designs.

The girl's mommy ordered an edible image and had me add it to this cake. Cinderella on a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing (all the C's).

The second cake was for Hello Kitty dressed as a University of Florida cheerleader.

Marshmallow fondant Hello Kitty character, on yellow cake & buttercream icing. With piped icing for the pom-poms and border.

Pink Cowgirl Boot Cake

Order came in for a yellow cake with chocolate icing, with "pink flowers, and maybe a boot".

Small marshmallow fondant flowers and a pink cowboy boot for the birthday girl!

United Methodist Church Cake

Finally back to the cake world! Baby Benjamin is an awesome kid, growing like a weed- he and I have decided that he will allow me to do some baking projects again (haha).

This was a yellow cake, with chocolate cream cheese icing. Commissioned by the United Methodist Men's group to celebrate their 25th year of existence in Waukeenah. Used colored chocolate to make the logo of the United Methodist Church, then piped a rope border along the bottom of the cake.

Belt Buckle & Bandana Print

Papa's 83rd birthday party needed a cake! Decided to go with a belt buckle and some bandana print.

Normally the initial would be centered in a belt buckle, but had to leave room for the other cake. A big ol M, Happy Birthday, some Longhorn silhouettes, and a piped rope border to complete the look.

Bandana/Paisley print topper. It turned out the decor for the party was bandanas too- I didn't even know.

All yellow cake, the topper with buttercream, the bottom with chocolate cream cheese icing and some edible silver spray.

Hot Air Balloon Cake

This cake was commissioned to match a Powerpoint presentation. Love how the hot air balloon turned out.
This was just a quick order for a work meeting ("Office of Performance & Quality Improvement").

Chocolate cake, with chocolate cream cheese icing.
I just wish I had gotten a picture of someone "wearing" it.

Bigfoot is Bored, Cupcakes

What would Bigfoot do all day? Seems like his life would be a little lonely and boring!
Hence the cupcakes: "Bigfoot is Bored" for my little brother's 14th birthday!

Almost feel sorry for the guy, but he sure was fun to make!

I didn't want just trees in the woods, though I guess that would have made it MORE boring, so I added a few water features and some rocks. This bit of the river even has a little fish in it, but Bigfoot is not amused. haha.

Needed a HAPPY BIRTHDAY indicator as well.

And a "hairy" number 14 for the birthday boy's age! Sometimes it is super fun to get to have free reign on what to make!

Pigs in the Mud Cake

The birthday twins requested yellow cake with my Nana's chocolate cream cheese icing for their birthday, well there is only so much decorating you can do with brown icing. haha. Here are their "Pigs in the Mud"

Added 'grass' on the sides of the cake for a little more color, the icing was soft so it ended up a little on the "seaweed" side.

One silly pig with his tush in the air, peeking out of the mud

Pig #2 floating on his back in the mud puddle

There was debate over which pig was which twin, I had to tell them to decide. :)

Poinsettias & a Hippopotamus

Merry Christmas!!! When deciding on a design for Christmas cookies this year I found this wonderful Poinsettia idea over at Sweet Sugarbelle. I absolutely love how they turned out!
"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas...", I was surprised by how many of my family members didn't know this song! This is a sample of a set made with more stockings and hippos.

I really like how the chocolate sugar cookies make the royal icing colors pop!

Sweet As Pie

A friend of mine recently got engaged to a great girl~ her friend hosted a surprise engagement shower for them, unfortunately I was out of town, but I did get to send goodies!

This new cake plate was a wedding gift {shout out!}, and is perfect for photographs.

I decided that just one type of pie would be boring, I had cherries in the fridge, fresh blueberries, and I keep chocolate pudding available at all times...those would be my pies.
I didn't want it to be like a box of chocolates, I wanted people to know what they were getting when they picked up their pie of choice, so they had to look different.

Blueberry (from Granny's blueberry grove), thatched crust design

Cherry (I don't have a fresh cherry supplier, yet), full crust design

Chocolate, with cool whip top

Ended up making about 5 dozen mini pies

Well, it was cheesy, but it was the concept. Sweetie "Pie"

Since I wouldn't be at the party, didn't want to burden anyone with remembering which ones where what, I made a "key." It was pretty fun to bust out the crayons for that one!

All packed up and ready to party!
