BUBBLE Party Cake!

Gelatin bubbles in varying shades of blue!
It was so hot out! Cake got a "gangsta lean"

Luckily it was my son's cake so I wasn't panicked about the lean

Definitely a learning curve to make those "bubbles" and apply them- but now I'll know how if I get an order

Peacock 30th Anniversary Cake

I was SO excited to get this order, I have been wanting to do a peacock cake for a long time!

Here is the peacock himself, he had purple wings- my camera doesn't like to pick up purples for some reason.

This peacock is even more unique because he had a tail of ROSES!

Love the effect they give cascading down the cake!

These roses were fun to build with the changing colors. The middles were a gorgeous purple, I've got to figure out what is wrong with my camera & purples.

Benjamin's Baby Shower Cake

Let's preface this with me saying that I was not ASKED to make my own baby shower cake, I requested that I be allowed to make the cake. Because it is rare that I get to pick out the concept for a cake, I am usually working within parameters- which is great, but this was a treat.
The shower theme was "baby woodland animals," and this is what I came up with.

A baby in a fox "costume" on a bed of leaves, all on a "stump" of a cake covered in vines and little blue flowers.

I had fun putting the "growth rings" on the top, and left room for the monogram of little Mr. Benjamin Douglas White.
It was fun not to have to smooth the sides of the cake, a little therapeutic even to make "rough" icing.
A close up of the little baby, with his faux fox fur (which is so fun to say, haha). Completely edible, but I wouldn't let Ben sample him after he was removed from the cake, that just seemed too weird.

Cinderella Cupcakes

Can you guess which Disney Princess these cupcakes represent?

How about now? Blue dress, pearls, glass slippers... Cinderella!
The birthday girl was turning 3 years old, so a half dozen of the cupcakes displayed a rose and a "3"

Another shot of the teeny glass slipper
Also made a mini-cake for the birthday princess.

Complete with a fondant version of Cinderella's dress
Mini cake was Carrot (without pecans) with cream cheese icing

Color coded the cupcakes for a school party: the white icing cakes were carrot (no nuts),  blue icing cakes were yellow cake, and all the decorations were 100% edible! Yum!
