Tacky Sweater Cake

You know those "Tacky/Ugly" Sweater parties that are popular around the holidays?! I finally got to make a cake for one!!

There is no fondant on this cake, the "lights" and gold details were large sprinkles, everything else was icing (helped sell the "stitched" look of the sweater)

There was a large round base cake, and a sweater shaped second layer. SO MUCH FUN!

Trumpet Birthday Cake

Birthday cake for a trumpet player in high school band.

Fondant Trumpet, Musical notes for side detail

I love how the little trumpet turned out, my first all-fondant instrument I think.

North Florida Fair 2014, Tiered Cake Category

Started with buttercream brush embroidery on the bottom layer, a "rustic" iced second layer with fondant "burlap" wrap

Topped with a buttercream swirl-rose dome.

1st place in the Tiered Category!

After being on display for a week- the cake was given to the chickens at my house.

Hen-approved cake.

Double Birthday Cakes

This order was for 2 sisters with a shared birthday party, but each birthday girl needed her own cake and had great ideas for the designs.

The girl's mommy ordered an edible image and had me add it to this cake. Cinderella on a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing (all the C's).

The second cake was for Hello Kitty dressed as a University of Florida cheerleader.

Marshmallow fondant Hello Kitty character, on yellow cake & buttercream icing. With piped icing for the pom-poms and border.

Go Go Power Rangers!!

I didn't even know how many versions of Power Rangers there have been since the good ol' days of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"...well I can tell you know there have been LOTS. This is a combination of 2 pink rangers, the original for the costume and "Mystic" for the helmet, because who can resist the pink Power Ranger with a butterfly helmet?!

Such a cool order, and an awesome little girl to still be into Power Rangers! A classic even if it is a different "theme" now.
Happy Birthday Brylee!

On a side note, I just got a TON of shaped pans for creating character and unique cakes. I didn't have a Power Ranger pan, but think she turned out great from this "Pretty Lady" cake pan.

Pink and Silver, Simple Elegance Wedding Cake

I was thrilled to receive and complete this wedding cake order.
Pink Velvet Cake (to carry the pink theme to even the inside of the cake), buttercream icing & piping, and fondant ribbon.

The more simple the cake design, sometimes the more challenging the cake. Because the bits that are there need to be as good as possible, nothing to cover mistakes!

The bride's colors were pink and silver. Piped the design with grey icing and painted with silver luster dust.

Some more of the scroll work.

Congratulations to the Newlyweds!

'Purple Blossoms' Wedding Cake

Request for this cake was a square cake with "cherry" blossoms in Plum.

Picked up a sample of the bride's chosen color at David's Bridal to make sure the flowers matched. They did match, but unfortunately the purple did not translate well on my camera- probably had to do with the flash I had to use indoors.

The bride loved the "pearls" details in the flowers. And the silver accents.

I do not have a picture of the cake with the topper, it hadn't arrived yet before I left. I am looking forward to seeing wedding photos posted by the bride!

Tooth Cake- Dentistry Graduation

Graduation cakes are fun, this is a twist on the usual though- it's for Dentistry! Had so much fun with this cute little tooth!
Since the cake was pink, I thought it would be fitting to have a little "teeth" border.

Made a shiny silver pick and mirror.

No dentist can work without a mask!

Little graduation cap for our "tooth graduate"
Toothbrush and diploma details too! Congrats to the graduate!!
