Barbie Princess Cake

I have been wanting to make a Barbie princess cake, and since no one had ordered one yet, I made one for myself for my FSU graduation. My favorite FSU shirt is hot pink, so I chose that instead of the garnet and gold.

The bodice and all parts except the barbie are edible, even the teensy diploma.

LOVED the ruffle bustle. And it was the one of the easiest parts of the cake.

This was a good trial cake, I learned some valuable lessons:

1. I needed another layer for height

2. Wrap Barbie in plastic, and make sure she is in straight (this one leaned)

3. Ruffles are awesome.

Mermaid & Friends Cake

A birthday cake for a girl that loves pink and mermaids.

Made the mermaid to look like her, and then all of the mermaids little friends in bubbles to place around the cake.

Bubbles all over, and girly seahorses, fish and turtles galore!

Gone Fishing...

Birthday Cake for a Fisherman

This was the first thing I thought of for the cake, "Gone Fishin'!"

There aren't supplies ready-made for fish cakes, had to make my own! Love how they turned out.

Fish all around the sides, different "species" in the waves.

Had trouble with the lighting for these pictures. Wanted to include one in natural light.
