Football Cake

My nephew loves football, and just because his birthday is not in football season- that doesn't stop him from celebrating his favorite sport on his birthday cake! However, he "goes for both" the major Florida college teams- University of Florida and Florida State, so he needed both represented on his cake.

Thank goodness for the football pan, that would be a hard shape to duplicate without one.

The Gator side

The Seminole side

Covered the cake with the "star" piping tip to give it a little texture.

Mini Gator Football Cake

Our pastor is a serious Gator fan. Thought it only fitting we reflected that in a cake for him.

2 layer, 6" square cake, with a mini football field and sprinkle "fans."

I know nothing about football plays, but I made up a few for the sides. :)

Gator Football Birthday

My nephew Mason turned 8, and requested a Gator football cake with "real football guys."

Made a green-tinted, extra large sheet cake, green cream cheese icing, and used some Football Guys toys as the players. I had to repaint the blue & white players to have the orange for the Gators.

I put 8 on all the yardage marks, just for fun.

The kids at the party responded well to the cake, and Mason was quick to notice "Look Eia, that guy is about to get a touchdown!!!"
Never think kids won't notice the details! :)
